Hey dirt lovers, Brian Finestone here with my first Bike Park report as the rookie Bike Park Manager. It is hard to report on a Park that is still covered in a few feet of snow but here goes…
It is hard to think about biking for us snowbound mountain folk. I just can't picture dirt and rocks when I'm slaying fresh pow. The two do not go together, you would think. And that is the way it has been for most of the time since December. At least until recently, that is.
This report is always the hardest one to write, because there is nothing to report - no new trails, no new features - nothing. The Boneyard is getting a massive liposuction as all of the features are being bulldozed, the "Washasaurus" is gone and the place is deserted - not exactly a happy picture - but there is always next year...
I was walking out of my house the other morning, late for a meeting as usual, when I got pelted in the head by a pine cone. As I looked up at the laughing rodent high up in the tree, I stepped on another pine cone and almost went down. Instead of raging, I started laughing, thinking that this little critter is just like the Trail Crew - getting ready for the winter...
