"Lovin'" Sam Theard wrote the first of the two songs "Let the good times roll" in about 1946 which was essentially the R&B seed for the later versions recorded by everyone from Conway Twitty to the Cars.

Regardless of who belts out the lyrics, the sentiment is the same and that was the line playing in my head (the Cars version) as I rode laps in Garbanzo this weekend. I think I covered just about the whole zone except for Goats Gully, Captain Safety and Drop in Clinic. Everything was in pretty good riding shape and I managed to identify  only a few spots where the Trail Crew can give some shovel love to improve conditions.

Riding Blue Velvet was one of the highlights and the double bermed corner section is one of my new favorites. In the theme of keeping the good times rolling, I can't wait to get the trail builders focused on finishing the lower sections so that flow can last even longer.

With the hot weather the trails have changed to a more loose feel with the exception of the most shaded forests and the mucky spots still affected by runoff. Good riding, tons of options and warm weather, feels like summer.

After we recover from Canada's birthday celebrations next week, the Trail Crew will be getting back onto Ninja Cougar with the intent of finishing the missing links and opening the trail in the following weeks.

We are also please to be in the planning phase of the resurrection of the No Joke section that was disrupted by the Olympic construction and should be starting to break ground on the 1.7km of new trail shortly.

Come on up and ride Garbanzo now that it is fully open and I'll see you in the lineup.
