With some precipitation this past week and a high pressure ridge building the Park should be hitting that sweet – not too wet, not too dry – spot for the weekend. Supreme tackiness is on its way and just like a forecast for a cold winter storm the anticipation for the best conditions of the year is mounting. And if that is not enough to wet your appetite then the fact that Crank It Up has been buffed top to bottom should. There is no doubt that "smooth" and "grippy" will be words that will be bantered about après at the GLC.

There are big things happening at the Park starting this weekend - as we roll into full operations. First of all, Extended Play goes seven days a week beginning this Saturday. That means the Park will be open to 8:00 PM everyday until Labour Day (great news for local 9 – 5'ers). By my reckoning, now is the best time to enjoy evening riding: the days are long and the lift lines are short.

Also, the world's first ever (we claim) Giant Slalom track will be open for your riding pleasure hopefully by mid next week. The word is Marty and the Gravity Logicians have created another masterpiece. It may take a few days to get ridden in but the course looks unbelievable. I haven't counted the number of berms and features from the top of the course to the bottom but there is definitely enough to pump up your arms and the corners of your mouth.

After completing the Slopestyle course in the Boneyard, John Cowan and his team are now on their way to Colorado to build the Crankworx course there. Riders boning up this weekend's Boneyard Air Affair have been raving about the course so it should be an entertaining comp. The Boneyard will be open to everyone before and after training and the competition.

As the lower park progresses into mint riding conditions, Murph is moving the crew up to Garbanzo. Definitely some snow to move at the top. No promises on an opening date but there is a chance that it will be earlier than last year.

That's all for now. Thanks for reading, RM filling while BF is on holidays.
