Opening Day!

Well the switch has been flipped. It is now summer season. I knew it would be a good start with the state of the trails and the amperage of the people I talked to the week before. We had a record opening day with almost 1000 riders and despite the fact that the line was long, the wait was not that bad. The weather for today seems to be holding so I am going to call this the best start up weekend of all time. Tribute needs to be paid to the Patrol and Trail Crew for all of their work last week which brought you the quantity and quality of trails. We will get the rest of them tuned up this week and will have Dirt Merchant and Easy Does It by next weekend. The Crud to Mud is also on tap so if your riding legs are up for it, sign up before the final few spots fill up. Thanks to all the riders who came out for the weekend, the vibe was great! Let's do it again next weekend.

We did a full cleanout of the foam pit to get rid of the old foam and top it up with new blue cubes. Each time we undertake this massive job we expect to find certain things at the bottom; cell phones, ipods, keys, bike parts, and tons of loose change. This time we found some of the above and possibly the two oddest items ever, a roll of toilet paper and a slice of processed-cheese-food!? What amazes me is that a piece of cheese can sit for over six months and not have a spec of mold on it! I guess the "Twinkie" now has a contender for the longest lasting food on earth (using the term "food" lightly). The Airdome is now open for business and as good as it gets, so come up for a session and feel the plush sensation of diving into a calm blue sea of foam. And if you lost your cheese last fall then you can pick it up in the lost-and-found.

See you in the lineup. B-ri.
